Approximately 150 meters from the Lodge is a public beach for all to use. The lake is warm enough for swimming and boating in the summer and offers excellent fishing all year round. In the winter there is ice fishing, skating, cross country skiing, hiking and snowmobiling.

Just a five minute walk from the Lodge is Tyax Mountain Lake Resort, which provides many services including a restaurant for formal dining, a lounge and a gift shop. The Resort also provides access and rentals for many outdoor activities such as tennis, horseback riding, fishing, cross country skiing, heli skiing, mountain biking, sailing as well as ATV, and snowmobile rentals. During the summer there is also a seaplane available for sightseeing, mountain biking and fishing trips.

The whole area offers excellent nature paths as well as hiking, mountain and horseback riding trails for every level, gold panning and hunting.

Many different sorts of wildlife can be spotted in our neck of the woods, such as mule deer, white tailed deer, elk, moose, black bear, grizzly bear, wolves, coyote, bobcats, eagles, hawks and numerous small animals and fauna.
